Higgs Decay to Photons at Two Loops *

چکیده
The standard model (SM) predicts the existence of one scalar particle, the Higgs boson (H). The Higgs boson is the only particle of the SM which has not been found until now. Electroweak precision data mainly collected at CERN LEP and SLAC SLC in combination with the direct top-quark mass measurement at the Tevatron would favour a light Higgs boson with a mass below about 200 GeV at the 95% confidence level, while the direct search at LEP leads to a lower bound of 114 GeV at the 95% confidence level [1]. This mass range is compatible with the so-called intermediatemass range, defined by MW ≤ MH ≤ 2MW , MW and MH being the mass of the W boson and the Higgs boson, respectively. In this mass regime the decay of the Higgs boson into a pair of photons is an important detection channel at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) due to its clear signature, though the branching fraction does not exceed 0.3%. Furthermore, this decay channel is useful in determining the properties of the Higgs boson. At a future International Linear Collider (ILC) precision measurements would be possible. In particular, at the ILC the two photon mode could be made possible, which allows for the production of Higgs bosons via the fusion of two photons. This way a precise measurement of Γ(H → γγ), with a

متن کاملTop Squark Effects on Higgs Boson Production and Decays at the LHC
In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, one of the scalar top quarks can be relatively light and its couplings to Higgs bosons strongly enhanced. I will discuss two consequences of this feature: 1) the effects of scalar top loops on the main production mechanism of the lightest Higgs boson at the LHC, the gluon–fusion mechanism gg → h, and on the important decay channel into two photons h...
متن کاملThe Higgs–photon–Z boson Coupling Revisited
We analyze the coupling of CP-even and CP-odd Higgs bosons to a photon and a Z boson in extensions of the Standard Model. In particular, we study in detail the effect of charged Higgs bosons in two–Higgs doublet models, and the contribution of SUSY particle loops in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model. The Higgs–γZ coupling can be measured in the decay Z → γ+Higgs at e+e−...
متن کاملTwo - Loop Threshold Singularities , Unstable Particles and Complex Masses
The effect of threshold singularities induced by unstable particles on two-loop observables is investigated and it is shown how to cure them working in the complex-mass scheme. The impact on radiative corrections around thresholds is thoroughly analyzed and shown to be relevant for two selected LHC and ILC applications: Higgs production via gluon fusion and decay into two photons at two loops i...
متن کاملDominant two-loop electroweak corrections to the hadroproduction of a pseudoscalar Higgs boson and its photonic decay
We present the dominant two-loop electroweak corrections to the partial decay widths to gluon jets and prompt photons of the neutral CP-odd Higgs boson A, with mass MA0 < 2MW , in the two-Higgs-doublet model for low to intermediate values of the ratio tan β = v2/v1 of the vacuum expectation values. They apply as they stand to the production cross sections in hadronic and two-photon collisions, ...
